Synopsis

The President of the United States James "Jim" Marshall (Harrison Ford) leaving home to his country after giving a speech in a celebration of the arrest of General Ivan Radek (Jurgen Prochnow), rebel leader Kazakhstan in Moscow, Russia. Unwittingly the passengers aboard the presidential Air Force One infiltrated by a group of terrorists masquerading as Russia television crew. The leadership of terrorist Egor Korshunov (Gary Oldman) and his men suddenly attacked and successfully took control of the aircraft.

All passengers aboard Air Force One held hostage included the President's wife, Grace Marshall (Wendy Crewson) and their daughter, Alice (Liesel Matthews). However President Marshall got away from the catch the terrorists and hide themselves in the area of the aircraft. Although he was upset with the President, Egor lolosnya directly contacted the White House in Washington to demand the release of their leader, General Radek from prison. If not met, the terrorists will execute a passenger every half hour until their demands are met.

While President of Marshall that suspected terrorists had to escape from the aircraft using the lifeboat rescue, was secretly tried to take control of the aircraft. The terrorists are finally know Marshall, attempted to arrest her business alive. But they've underestimated the ability of the President who was a former soldier of the highest State Award winner "Medal of Honor" on the battlefields of Viet Nam. With the physical remains fit and martial abilities, Marshall tried to suppress the terrorists one by one in addition to trying to free his wife, his daughter and the other passengers.

While the tension in the increasingly gripped presidential aircraft, a situation that does not lose the tense also experienced by Vice President Kathryn Bennett (Glenn Close) which directly held an emergency meeting to resolve the hijacking. According to the United States Government policy, they cannot meet the demands of terrorists despite having to jeopardize their leader. While Kathryn still confused decisions, he urged by Secretary of Defense Walter Dean (Dean Stockwell) to take power as the President may be considered unable to be fixed technically. The Vice President is still undecided as well although demand Walter Dean supported by Attorney General (Philip Baker Hall).
